BOP supported the City of London Corporation to define the long-term future of The London Archives. Setting out a pathway to evolve into a next-generation anchor for the city.

The London Archives holds over 100 kilometres of collections that chart the city’s governance, communities and culture. With its lease expiring in 2035 and storage capacity nearing its limit, the Corporation commissioned BOP to develop a Strategic Operating Model (SOM) to secure the service’s sustainability for the next 50 years.

Working closely with TLA and City Corporation teams, BOP combined strategic analysis, stakeholder consultation, and financial and environmental modelling to develop and assess a range of operating options.

The resulting model provides a clear framework for decision-making, setting out a pathway for TLA to evolve into a next-generation anchor for the City of London.
