BOP developed a high-level cultural strategy for Misk City, a new urban district in Riyadh conceived as the world’s first non-profit city.
Misk City is designed to embody Misk Foundation’s mission to empower youth, foster creativity, and advance knowledge and innovation. Working closely with the client and key stakeholders, BOP helped define an overarching vision for arts and culture in the public realm, positioning culture as a driver of civic identity, social value and quality of life.
Through extensive consultation, BOP identified the assets, networks and opportunities that could underpin a vibrant cultural ecosystem within the city. On-site workshops with the client refined these insights into a strategic framework for cultural content, programming, activation and governance.
The resulting strategy provides a clear roadmap for embedding culture across the city — from its spatial and programmatic design to the systems that will sustain participation and innovation over time.
