BOP Consulting, in partnership with City-REDI, evidenced the transformative economic and social impact of the BBC’s investments in the West Midlands, highlighting the broadcaster’s role as a catalyst for the creative economy.
Ahead of the BBC’s relocation to Typhoo Wharf in Digbeth, we analysed how its presence and spending will stimulate the region’s economy and creative ecosystem. Our work measured the ripple effects of investment, from supporting jobs and local supply chains to strengthening creative clustering and driving growth across the wider cultural economy.
Our analysis showcased the BBC’s contribution to jobs, skills development, and inward investment, and provided long-term forecasting to anticipate the future impact of major capital projects such as the Tea Factory.
The resulting impact report gave the BBC robust evidence to demonstrate its value to the West Midlands and clear recommendations for maximising the benefits of creative clustering, skills development, and community engagement.
